Jeremy Karlin has a reputation in West-Central Illinois for being the go-to attorney for the toughest of cases. For over twenty years he has focused his practice in criminal law and family law, guiding his clients past the legal pitfalls, and fully preparing them for success in a courtroom or obtaining the best negotiated results in advance of trial. He couples this high level of legal ability and preparation with a laser-like focus on his client's needs. If there is an issue in criminal law, chances are that Jeremy Karlin has seen it in his career. Starting first as an Assistant Knox County State's Attorney and then as a criminal defense lawyer, Mr. Karlin has handled traffic tickets to DUIs, misdemeanors to felonies, and petty offenses to death penalty murder. He is often called upon by local judges to handle the most difficult defense work. When the death penalty still existed in Illinois, he was one of a select few attorneys approved by the Illinois Supreme Court to be lead defense counsel in those cases. He has served as the chairman of the Illinois Bar Association Criminal Justice Section Counsel and has frequently lectured to other attorneys throughout Illinois on criminal justice issues. Mr. Karlin is qualified, experienced and able to handle the complexities of state and federal prosecution to best protect your property and liberty.

Mr. Karlin recognizes that when one seeks representation in family law or divorce cases, that person is often lost in the fog of a divorce, or custody fight, not knowing how best to proceed or even what his or her rights are. Like a doctor, Mr. Karlin helps his clients diagnose the problem and provides different legal options. Mr. Karlin keeps informed of the new cases as they are decided and follows the pending legislation so that his client are have the best legal information with which to make a decision.
